Darkstar

I've played:

*SimCity4 - Rush Hour
*The Sims
*Galactic Civilizations
*Freecell
*Spider
*Dyson Telescope

Had meant to get around to playing on the current Angie comp, but I've been too lazy to get around to doing it. Been in the mood this past week to just veg mentally more then normal.

The Harry_Pontek stopped playing it a few weeks ago. The reason being unlucky as he failed to bring glory back to Fiorentina after failing at the last hurdle (always lost in the promotion playoff). His team just began to play crap untill The Harry_Pontek thinks that its due to eating crab. Chanting holy mantra does not help as well and what make the matter worse is that the hair losing due to constant defeat (bizarre result makes The Harry_Pontek grab his hair resulting in hair loss). After taking into consideration of all these issues, it might as well quit now and wait untill the release of CM0304 before embarking in a new journey to glory. Take a deep breath and thinking of past histories makes The Harry_Pontek sad and blue.

That's a prereq for graduation. You have to stop playing team ball and get selfish. If I'd been more naturally selfish and a shameless self-promoter, I could have graduated in half the time.

Still, managed to get in a little more MoM and Allied General, as well as a game of CMAK in the last week... my literature review is almost complete.

Unfortuately I have one data chapter referenced from Endnote and the other two from RefMan. That'll be a chore to sort out.

Interview coming up (I hope) at FDA in mid-February, where I'll get to spend a long weekend with the wife and we'll get to play a bit more KOTOR (among other things).

Also have shelved until graduation:
Deus Ex2
NWN: Shadows (just started), and Hordes (installed, but untouched) expansions.
Arx Fatalis (nearly finished)
Icewind Dale II (nearly finished)
Railroad Tycoon III (the wife is currently playing, though)
Divine Divinity - not halfway finished, I suspect.

In other news, I've been told Thief III is looking worse and worse as the work on it continues.

I've been playing Halo PC. It's pretty fun. I like it because it's something easy I can do, but not so engrossing that I can't stop (at a stupid checkpoint). My biggest complaint is that the handgun doesn't carry enough rounds to make it a viable weapon in the middle of alien territory. They probably had to make it that way because it's a frigging superweapon, but I'd rather have 250 rounds like in Half Life.

Axis and Allies: Iron Blitz Good game, though the AI is a little flakey, and once you figure out how to beat it, it's almost too easy. Playing as Russia is the only real challenge now, as they have to confront Germany and Japan almost single handedly, as the US and British AI sux.

Medieval: Total War (soon to try out the Vikings expansion too)

I came back to Spellforce after getting totally fed up with it about half way through. The voice acting is abysmal, and there are numberous German translation errors all through the thing. The interface is nasty for an RTS, and even on easy the enemy trounces you because you need resources for units, wheras they respawn automatically. But it looks pretty. And there's a scantily-clad chick on the front of the box that has nothing to do with the plot at all.
