I love the Tiger Direct email catalogs. Reading them is way better than work :) (Yes, Trip, I know how much they suck :) )

But the most recent one is touting "barebones kits" with:

- case
- power supply
- motherboard
- CPU & fan
- memory
- GFX card
- CD-RW drive
- keyboard
- mouse

How in hell does that qualify as barebones?

Maybe it's wireless? :) That's about as misleading as calling it a barebones kit :D

Except the CD-RW drive, surely all of that is needed to run a PC in a decent way. So's a monitor, come to think of it.

A monitor would be helpful, yes. :)

You mean you don't interface directly with your optic nerves?

Sometimes it seems like that -- especially when I'm trying to sleep after an all-day gaming session.

Well, there are those heads up displays, the look through monocles, and the ultimate, iVisor OLED screen glasses.
