I don't mean the oldest album you recognise as decent but something that'd potentially make your top 30 albums or something.

Mine: "Two Steps From The Blues", Bobby "Blue" Bland 1960.

Probably some 50s blues, John Lee Hooker or something. I don't know what any of the albums are called really though, I just used to listen to my Dad's stuff in the car.

My Blind Lemon Jefferson compilation from the 1920's. I'm heavily into Delta Blues.

The oldest music I listen to fairly often would probably be Leadbelly, but that's only because it comes up quite often when I have my Mp3 player on random. I couldn't name a specific album or anything, and even if I could it wouldn't make my top 30 of all time list.

Question is: What is an album? A compilation? Or does it have to be produced as an album? Probably some opera recordings

i MEAN aLBUM aLBUM. a COMPILATION IS OKAY BUT THE DATE IT WAS MADE IS THE SIGNIFICANT FACTOR IN THAT CASE iD SAY.

Albums didn't exist until the 1940's, so it's compilations all the way before then.

If you're looking at "true" albums, I'd have to choose "Kind of blue" by Miles Davis.

One day Snappy, you too will learn the ancient art of using the caps lock ;)

Sad as it sounds, I think my oldest album is from 1977...so it is only as old as I am

The oldes album that would make my top 30 would probably be the Wailers' Catch a Fire, released April 13, 1973.

My favorite kind of music didn't really exist before the sixties, so I don't have many albums from before then...
