ARGH!!! Won't publish AGAIN! :bash:

seems to be working now...

The usual mixed bag of responses :D

I need to listen to it again, i don't remember half of the tracks.

Maybe you could post your reviews here after you've done that. ;) It works but it's not published to the front page with the icon.

I keep forgetting to finish sentences. :bash:

10-09-2003, 12:44:29
I thought you just missed off the full-stop. I can change it if you really want me to.

Quality picture, entertaining reviews (as the first set always are).

Birdseed handling the next section?

Yeah, I'll do it.

Whaddyamean, zmama, I was the only one who guessed the track was yours!

10-09-2003, 13:04:08
Read it sans guesses, perhaps?
Laz was correct and Scabby all wrong (big surprise there, huh), the band is a bunch of guys from the barrio of East LA who have led a pretty tough life.

Well yes, but sll I said is that they were pussies. That's surely a verifiable fact.

10-09-2003, 13:06:08
She quite obviously was talking about their assessments of the music not the guesses. Laz was one of the posters who didn't do guesses.

But since I guessed right I can't be all wrong!!!

10-09-2003, 13:27:00
No just puerile and jejune ;)

Almost sorry (but not) I've defended you to others that were exasperated! :D

Ooooh...that surely put him in his place again.

And zmama...I did think there was something slightly sinister about Sexton when I saw him live...but I was too stunned that such a big voice came out of such a midget to overanalyze his moral preclusions, though he was, apparently, either drunk or on smack at his show here in Portland.

And I'm sure that Los Lobos is covering an English band there...so that screwed me all up in guessing. Damn.

Great stuff.

10-09-2003, 15:37:46
BGH...I did cheat to find the particular Junkies song, but did know it was them!
No it isn't them covering anything...twas written by David Hidalgo and Louie Perez. Try to scare up a copy of Kiko, it's a masterpiece!

11-09-2003, 16:09:14
Whups, forgot to do any guessing. I'd have gotten them all wrong except Scab's anyway, though, so I guess it's all right.

I love the graphics, very good choice! :)

I'm flattered that so many people guessed me for the tracks they liked, though it is also worrying as I mostly panned those same tracks. :hmm:

11-09-2003, 16:36:53
Personally I found it quite alarming that so many people guessed mine correctly with, as far as I can see, very little information to work from. Spooky :nervous:

You had something about jazz in your location or title...

11-09-2003, 16:46:04
D'oh! I'd forgotten about that. Is it possible for someone to be going senile at the age of 22? :o

Has anyone noticed that on CD2, right up until the last tracks, every even numbered track is completely bonkers while every odd numbered track is pretty straight?

The reviews to Elklektikos's track 6 are hilarious

I like it.

I had some serious problems with my lwp5, i got the mp3's all mixed up somehow. I've sorted it out now, i'll submit reviews for bit 2.

But i should probably say now that scabby's rocksteady track is the best on the entire compilation.

Have you got an MVC store in Reading? The Trojan Rocksteady Box Set is only 8 in them right now.

12-09-2003, 12:38:20
 it was 15 last time I looked.

BTW, you might wanna head down to Fopp- the grapewine tells me they sell box sets for 7 now. ;)

13-09-2003, 10:49:41
I was going to get some DVDs from there anyway. Thanks!

13-09-2003, 19:49:28
Woohoo. Three films on DVD and a three-CD box set for 21. This sort of offer could bankrupt me in no time.
