Thing of a cross between fallout and diablo with really crap character animation.

So far it's been interesting, but nothing has really grabbed me yet. The game isn't terribly deep, at least for a start, the storyline feels like a rehashed Baldur's Gate, and the crappy graphics really don't add to the immersion much.

Still, I'm hardly far enough to have given the game a fair chance yet. It's not bad, per say. But I did enjoy the free pin ball game that came with it more than the offical game.

Well, after playing it for about 4 hours, I like it so far. Yes, graphics aren't supernatural, but that's never been a major issue for me. They're more than serviceable, and IMHO portray the areas in question quite well. I really got the feeling that I was walking through an alternate 16th century Barcelona. Labelling the graphics as "crap" is a bit harsg IMHO. They're no worse than Baldur's Gate II, which I wouldn't label crap.

I like the skill system they used (same as Fallout basically). I made myself a bow wielding, magic using Feralkin, and he's proving to be quite good to date. Especially with a companion who's a Knight Templar. :)

The magic system is pretty cool, though only being able to have one spell at a time memorised is a slight pain. however, although you can't do anything like attack while the game is paused, you can switch spells/skills, which is nice.

Barely even scratched the surface of the plot yet, so hard to say much there. Just exploring the sewers at the moment. :gasmaske:

Must try a human character, see if people's reactions to me change much...

Do you use the drag and drop spell/item system - the little boxes above the portrait bit?

from the demo, it looked suspiciously like Diablo, except that instead of gobbling potions, you gobble up red 'souls' and blue 'magic blabla'. I don't really like the hack and slash formula.

it's a shame because I just love their alternate universe
the temple of the elemental evil will be much more detailed and kind of turn based for combat apparently

I occasionally use the drag and drop slot system, though not often.

I have played about 12 hours now, and am getting a little involved in the storyline (aka starting to get a few England v Spain things going). There's a great moment with Guy Fawkes (though you originally meet him as someone else) which has to be seen.

One of my minions just bought this today. He's quite hardcore RPGer so I'll be interested to hear his opinion. I don't think he's expecting too much because he seems to have seen a fair few bad reviews, although Greg's comments are quite encouraging.

So, it is just like Pacman with better graphics?;)

it's like Combat Mission, the way you play it (running around and getting chased) :p

So it's Pacman!? Cool. I might have to get it.

It comes with a cool free breakout game. Except it's not really free, you only get 2 hours play and then you have to register for $20.

But it's really quite good.
