I just heard "Picture" on the radio. I thought it was quite sweet.

:nervous:

It's probably the worst song I've ever heard.

King_Ghidra

Imagine the worst country ballad you've ever heard. Then add Kid Rock into the equation. :vom:

Und darum tret' ich dein Radio ein
und darum hack' ich dein Radio klein
und darum schmeiß ich dein Radio an die Wand
und darum Zünd' ich dein Radio an -
und dein Radio brennt

Not heard it, but sounds like it would be truly awful :nervous:

Every now and then
I turn it on again
But it's plain to see that the radio still sucks.

And no, haven't heard the song, but I can't imagine it being any good.

I quite liked it, the fact that Mike can't tell the difference between really awful commercial country (Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Faith Hill etc.) and decent commercial country (Dixie Chicks, recent Dolly Parton, this song) shouldn't throw you off. Of course, mike dislikes all the things that make good country good (sensitivity, haunting vocal harmonies, highly driven instrumentation) so I guess he prefers the mild pop-country bollocks others put out.

"Mike can't tell the difference between really awful commercial country ...and decent commercial country "

Oh, LOL!

Can you tell the difference between eating shit and eating turd?

Where does this aversion to Country come from? Is it 'cause there are loads of fat, middle-aged rural garth-books-litsening wannabees in Europe? What kind of a fucking reason is that to dislike something? You're all fucking cock sockets.

to be fair that song is one of the worst piles of dross ever.
i'd prefer to be locked in a room for eternity with provost harrison playing his favourite tunes than listen to it again.

I think Bob's riposte to Scabby's post is the most blunt and to the point. It sounds truly dreadful, and I will avoid it like ebola...

I bought Cash's "solitary man" yesterday. Got it in the office. Wait ... Aaaah!

It is spine chilling and beautiful. The Johnny Cash that is...not the Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow crap.

Even if that were true, there's none of it in that song. The day Kid Rock produces a haunting vocal harmony I'll start living off a diet of my own shit.

I would have said that about KISS and disco oompah songs in 1977

His "American" albums are excellent, well, I only got the first 3.

I just downloaded this song fully expecting to hate it, but actually it isn't that bad. Quite nice really, in a sort of bland Eagles-y way. There are far far worse songs than this around. That said, Kid Rock's still a cunt.

hey he's a postive action employer! Don't know if he's looking for a new dwarf now though

I quite recommend American 4 (which I borrowed last week), there are some good things on it if you're willing to put up with yet another bland cover of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Especially recommend the version of "Hurt".

The version of "Personal Jesus" he did was brilliant. I didn't go a bundle on "The Mercy Seat", however.
