Seeing all these one and two word replies from SP and Hk has given me this idea...

if your post is shorter then your signature, CG rejects it.

Anybody else like this idea?

My signature is not more than 4 lines at a modern resolution, as is required by netiquette.

You're just jealous because we can say so much with so few words.

Your sig is longer then my AVERAGE post, SP. That says something, doesn't it?

Sir Penguin

It says that you claim that my sig is longer than your average post. It also says that you claim that your average post is shorter than my sig. I can't think of much else that it says.

If you don't like it, take it up with the people who designed the rules of netiquette. :)

Your sig is longer then 6 lines for people that use reasonable font sizes. So leave netiquette out of this. ;)

My sig is less than 3.5 lines with CG's default font size. It's just under 4 lines with my settings of a minimum of font size 12.

But it doesn't matter what the size is on YOUR screen settings, SP. Only what it looks like on the other people people's screens. That's why you don't want to get into "netiquette".

Seriously, I picked you as an example because your sig tends to have a lot more bulk in it then your replies. You only tend to do a couple (2) of short sentences in your replies, so your sig really stands out against that.

I can't control other people's screen settings, and I won't change what I want to do because some guy might still run 800x600, or or has his fonts set to something other than default. If you want to ask me to change it, go ahead, and I will.

I shouldn't be lurking here, it feels like intruding into a nerd feud

ooops I meant 'geek' :cute:

DS, what you really want is an option to ignore posts that have no line breaks. :D

Nav... that works! :D

Pengy... I'm running a default setting, with 1024 x 768 screen resolution. As I said, claiming it's ok on your screen doesn't fly under etiquette. I could do a long paragraph, and claim it's only 1 line on my screen, because it only has one <p> in it. I've seen and participated in enough spats and breaches of netequitte. Line length for sigs is an old one. About as old as sigs themselves. But you are missing the joke... As usual it seems. I remember you having a better sense of humor. Something bothering you lately?

What jokes have I ever missed?

Own goal, and I don't even play that game!

And it's a growing list.

Everything going alright, Katie?

If you'd said you don't play 100-0 before, none of this would have happened.

I just like disagreeing with you. It makes me feel good. :)
