Since when did TV's with ordinary ariel sockets become obsolete?

I can't play with my shiney new Playstation 2 because my TV doesn't have a scart socket. I need a poxy SCPH-10072B RFU Adaptor apparently. GRRR!

I think it's gonna be ok.

I've worked out that I can put the PS2 into my video instead of direct to my tv. Yay!

Had the same problem.

Well...

couldn't play my PS2 on the crappy non-functioning old 14" TV so had to play it on the 36" widescreen instead. Life sucks. Then again my PS2 seems to have died somewhat.

As your playstation has died can I borrow either Tony4 or Grand Theft Auto?

Yes. Be good to see if they work on yours.

The only game I have is The Getaway, which is quite cool. The camera is a little annoying when you're on foot, but the driving bits are fun.

debaser i have a few games you might want to borrow

gran turismo 3 (still looks amazing)
tekken4 & virtua fighter4 (both equally good)
metal gear solid 2
silent hill 2
pes 2
final fantasy x

Have you still got that Beach Volleyball game?

Seriously though, thanks, I might sometime.

Yeah, I noticed he wasn't offering any of his girly-girl games.
He's been raving about Britney's Dance Beat all over the PS2 boards.

Funky...I've heard rumors of high PS2 mortality rates...usually associated with using it as a DVD too much...which I do, of course.
What's going on with yours?

You have an X-Box too? Wow.

Do you have a Gamecube?

no, i'd like to pick one up second hand maybe one day, although at the price they're going these days there won't be much difference...

tbh the xbox hasn't seen too much action, although i firmly intend to get the xbox version of soul calibur 2 rather than the ps2 version (based on Spawn being an extra special character in the xbox version rather than Heihachi in the ps2 version. The GC gets Link (Zelda) which is arguably even better...).

Plus, the GC has Doll House Gran Prix, CrazyTeacups3 and Mall Fighter.

Plays CDs and DVDs fine, seems to struggle with games. I say struggle, I mean doesn't load them.

I haven't used it as a DVD player all that much really. Certainly not as much as for playing games.

Hmmmm....in that case, mine should last forever, since all the gaming it seems to see is the occasional nephew begging to play "the motorcycle game".

This is funny:).

Over Christmas I had to jury-rig my parents new DVD player through the video, gamecube, and my bro's speaker system because their new TV didn't turn up at the same time.

Worked fine - I think. The old TV was so shit it was hard to tell if anything I did affected the quality or not.

Still a good use for the video recorder:).

Well Mike, you'll be delighted to learn that your PS2 is fucked. Both games run perfectly for me (on Tony4 even the videos don't skip).

The Xbox version also supports Xbox Live online play, the best graphics out of all of the versions, and even 720p (HDTV) resolution. :bounce: :bounce:

Too bad only you and KG aspire to own it.

Asher

Zero from Poly is buying an Xbox solely for that game.

And he's already played the Japanese import of Soul Calibur II for PS2 to death.

Sounds like a personal problem.

I am starting to dislike these types of games---where if you can't get past a certain task, you're stuck.
Especially Medal of Honor, because there is not insta-save feature and you have to go through the whole fucking dragged out scene over and over again.

And if I could just shoot those ten guys on the ship in GTA3, I'd be on the next island...but now I'm mad and pouting and give up.

I think I quit Onimishu (?) about 1/3rd of the way through as well.

Onimishu? I don't recall that game being very long... that was the Anime RPG, wasn't it?
