I want to know what you consider to be the best and worst Beatles cover versions ever recorded.

I think the best is either Day Tripper by the Jimi Hendrix Experience or Ticket to Ride by the Carpenters. I consider Motley Crue's terrible version of Helter Skelter to be the worst.

What do you think?

I also heard a great version of Day Tripper by Type O Negative - fairly freaky, but at least it was a different take on it.

When i was young and ignorant I used to think Candy Flip's cover of Strawberry fields was great, but i dunno what i'd think if i heard it now.

The best:
Tomorrow Never Knows by Los Lobos

So many millions of bad ones, I'll have to think a bit.

Found it.
Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds by William Shatner.

You're right, that really is a terrible version.

My favourite is the version of "Happiness is a warm gun" done by The Breeders on "Pod".

Wild Honey Pie on The Pixies Live at the BBC is pretty good too.

My favorite is the Shatner version of L.S.D because it is very different to the original. It is also brilliantly funny because he was so coked up he actually thought it was a worthwhile enterprise. HARR HARR HARR.
