1. Each participant submits 2 tracks. Theme is one from the heart, one for the feet. In other words one track that means something to you emotionally, one that makes you want to dance.
2. There is no time limit but don't be a dick about it. If you pick two 30 minute tracks just because you can we'll call you names and stuff.
3. Pick your two songs from two different genres.

'S fine with me.

I don't think it should matter about genre, as long as the songs mean something to you. I also think you should mention that when people submit tracks they should explicitly say which song goes on which CD, ie: the heart song and the feet song.

Oh get me! Posting from work.

I like it.

I also like the own-music idea. Even if it is a five minute piano/recorder/dustbin lid piece recorded on a dictaphone it will be cool because one of Counterglow did it.

Why not just have the heart song as the first track, and the feet song as the second?

Thats a whole other thing, though of course they are both my idea. *Beams*

The "own-recording" one will take a bit longer to prepare I think, maybe we could make that LWP6?

Because we want to ensure all the heart songs are on one CD and all the feet tracks on the other. In theory you could just do what you say, but I don't reckon everyone can be trusted not to fuck up. (Yes I mean YOU Shakey!)

I've got songs ready to go, my rock version of White Rabbit, one of the many song's I've done with Nills, one of my weird jazzy hip hoppy tunes, one of my nose bleeding rave tracks...

Sounds fine.
As for "own recording" I have quite a bit of my own material on tape. How do I get it on the PC?

But not everyone does. If we put in this "two songs" round in between, we give everyone two months to finish off whatever they wanted on there.

Makes sense. I said in the other thread I'd organise the origional composition LWP in a few days, when I have a better idea of all the people who'd like to contribute. Lets concentrate on this 2 song thing first.

Can you just jack a tape player into the PC and record, like a VCR/TV type thing, or do I hav to buy hardware and software to do this?

I don't do dancing.

It's not about picking a song that you like to dance to and a song that makes you cry. It's about picking one song that means something to you emotionally, and picking a second song that makes just sort of wakes you up or that you'd put on if you were driving really fast, basically a song that you love for it's energy.

You're not implying that I would break the speed limit are you? :cute:

Obviously I was refering to driving fast on a racetrack or private estate.

Yes you can do that if you have a lead that goes from your tape player to your line in / microphone socket on your soundcard. All Windows PCs should have Sound recorder or something which will record your input as a WAV file.

No-one says this idea sucks so far. 10 like it and 2 don't care.

Eleven. That's plenty enough, I say we run with it.

Participants/Volunteers?

Do you want to start a new thread for that?

Might be an idea...
