Here's the article:

I seem to have screwed up the link to the image though.

No, it needs to be published first. Wait!

Mr. Bas

It works, doesn't it?

Scabrous Birdseed

Didn't link from the front page until just now.

And the picture, of course, didn't work.

Excellent. It actually works.

I can confirm with 100% certainty that the last track is "Mistress" by The Red House Painters.

That 100 Horsepower track is so not country at all. A celtic fiddle sounds nothing like a good old country fiddle, and the mood is so wrong it hurts.

I find it quite amusing that when, finally, 'prejudice' is spelt correctly, it is because it is submitted by a non-native English speaker

God, some of you seem to listen to so much 'muzak'...

11-05-2003, 23:54:09
I actually quite like that last track, I'm not sure why I said it was dire. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for it when I was writing my reviews. And why did I keep saying "Ya!" on the Throwing Muses review? (which, for the record, does sound EXACTLY like Kenickie, even though Throwing Muses came out first, so technically Kenickie sound like....well you get the idea).

Anyway, good article again, probably one of my favourite parts. Who'd of guessed both Funko and Shaker would display great taste?

12-05-2003, 00:31:04
Man, I guessed the shit out of that section! Woo hoo...I'm starting to get a feel for some of you.
The big clue that Funky gave about "no rock" and the crap some of the others picked made it easy to guess his track...maybe a bit of objectivity helps in guessing?

Hmmm...overall, a great compilation. But someone needs to be added or replaced, as you need some more variation.

13-05-2003, 08:22:07
It doesn't take long before you start to work out peoples styles. Although obviously there's a lot of crossover.

Best part of the compilation, I think. Only two shit songs (not surprisingly, both from Reading :D), and the rest ranged from decent to fantastic.

I'm already looking forward to lwp 5.

13-05-2003, 20:22:15
Yeah....I'd like to officially sign up here!

13-05-2003, 21:07:43
Maybe the next one should be in MP3 format so we can fit more people on the CD? We could still have a 15 minute cut off but we could get everyone on one CD.

Scabrous Birdseed

I veto that suggestion on the basis that MP3s suck ass. OGGs, maybe.

13-05-2003, 21:15:03
Why do MP3s suck ass? They're just as good as mini disks. Most of what was on the cd was submitted as MP3 anyway. Well, at least my tunes were.

Scabrous Birdseed

I don't listen to minidiscs either.

The problem is, it'd mean having to listen off the computer, which is wank. Also, the sound is shit.

That would require me getting an MP3 player. I don't do MP3.

13-05-2003, 21:22:14
Hmm. I've got a feeling we will get about 10 minutes this time and I wanted to put longer, deeper songs on the next one. I won't be able to bring myself to put on one 10 minute song though.

Scabrous Birdseed
13-05-2003, 21:25:55
We could always do a triple album.

13-05-2003, 21:27:19
Interesting. I could do my home recorded Counterglow rap then.
