I was relatively impressed that Sean guessed my track but now I see he guessed me for all the ones he wasn't sure about (4 tracks!) It's not so surprising.

Well, despite urging all and sundry to check them out for years, I've ended up slagging off a Husker Du track. In fairness, I think everything they did before "Metal Circus" wasn't much cop.

How's that about Rape? You're thinking of "Sweat (A La La La La Long)" mate.

Oops, I forgot to put formatting <blah></blah> thingies arount the artist and title bits, and I forgot to mix up the reviews a little. Bollocks.

Still, pretty icons.

For LWP5 I'm thinking of dedicating my entire selection to a 12-minute track of me hitting random notes with my keyboard set to "Harpsichord". I've tried it about twice now and it always sounds better than track 17.

You have a keyboard?

Scabrous Birdseed
05-05-2003, 19:53:50
Yes. It's set up next to my computer and I constantly play random stuff on it with one hand while surfing. Drives my housemates insane.

What's your other hand doing?

I liked track 17. I find Japanese samisen music very chilling.

That section sucked ass.
Over and out, Captain!

And I'm stunned that we've had two bands from the town I've lived in practically my whole life and I've never heard of either. Are you sure they're not from Portland, Maine?!?
Of course, the music scene here is hyper-accelerated, so the lifespan of the local band is only slightly longer than a Mayfly.

'My favourite musician to come from St. Vincent and the Grenadines'

 What a selection of music from there there must be

I liked Sean's song. Worrying.

"Sakura - Music of the Japanese Geisha.
If this tune was a structure it would be increadibly complex with many repeating and undulating golden teak beams. If it was a smell it would be a heady mixture of jasmine, opium and plum blossom. If it was an emotion it would be bitter sweet nostalgia. If one of the Tony Hawks tracks was a structure it would be a ball. If it were a smell it would be rubber and if it was an emotion it would be mild indigestion. What I'm trying to say in a pretentious way is that this is a more refined form of music with more depth than alot of the other music on the compilation. But if you cats don't dig it, you don't dig it."

What have I told you about eating those funny mushrooms Protein!

A pretty bad section, even my own song wasn't that good. Although I'm really interested to hear what K_G's song was.

Absolutely (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=decemberists+portland+oregon) positive (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22noise+for+pretend%22+portland+oregon), I’m afraid.

I’m quite relieve you haven’t heard of them, because I chose them before I knew you were reviewing. When I did know, it was a bit of a downer.

I thought I hadn’t guessed you enough. I also like that I called it the most obvious Laz track and he loved it.

Well, if there had been no previous 30 second noise track I think I would have enjoyed this more. Now i'm starting to wonder why people bothered putting these stupid little things on...
My guess: The Shaker

 I guess this is what LWP is all about

So what is your track then, K?

Strangely enough when we went
to see Xmen2 yesterday the piece of music playing through the opening fight scene
would have been strangely familiar to funkodorm. I wonder if he noticed.
(assuming my memory is correct here)

This would drive my girlfriend nuts so it has great potential as a future favourite. Slightly dodgy batty boy falsetto vocals, but overall, a thumbs up.

errr...you expected my girlfriend wouldn't like it?

or you expected i'd use the phrase 'batty boy falsetto vocals'?

Nah, I thought you if anyone would like it. 'Cos you like ridiculous sleazy stuff.
