Just bought this week's Kerrang... there's an article on a Swedish band named "Division of Laura Lee", they're on the Burning Heart label (alongside the Hives, the (International) Noise Conspiracy), described as "a blazing blend of punk and 60s soul and garage rock". Interesting...

Do you know them?

30-01-2002, 11:48:20
I was going to mention them. :D

I liked the fact that they said they are one of those bands that people will talk about in 20 years and say they wished they'd been around to see them. Arrogance like that is great. :D

I'm going to e-mail them about their shocking review of the Jimmy Eat World gig.

I haven't got that far yet. Only one train journey into the magazine. :D

There's reviews of "A", Jimmy Eat World and the Icarus Line, and of the Cooper Temple Clause's new album.

Did you see my comment about "A" on FFZ?

Cool. What does the CTC album get? Their new double A side has one good track, one not very good.

Yeah, but as you agreed with me I didn't respond. The song's grown on me a bit but it still isn't A.

KKK... "(CTC) are probably very brilliant live... but a surprisingly thin and pedestrian production job has sadly holed their boisterous muse below the waterline... (but) positively drips with close-but-no-cigar potential..."

OK I just sneaked a read of the review. It seems fair.

Never heard of 'em. Sounds cool though...

I was going to do a "FAO Snapcase" thread, but I'll just slap it here.

Ever heard Chris Bell's solo album? It's rather good.

No. Though I can imagine it wouldn't be bad.

(FAO: Everyone: What the fuck does "FAO" mean? What the fuck does "R.O.A.R" mean?)

05-02-2002, 13:47:24
Oh, and FAO: Laz- is it okay by you if I borrow Iain's copy of Pollute your Ears instead of requesting one directly from you?

For Attention Of, Right Of Admission Reserved which means that they don't have to let you in even if you have a ticket.

05-02-2002, 14:13:12
For Attention Of sounds suspiciously ungrammatical to me.

05-02-2002, 15:46:25
It is. Should be For the Attention Of.

Iain's CD is different to most of the others- it's got a more punky slant. Feel free anyway.

I'll grab it from upstairs afterwards and post a track listing for you, Johan. I also ought to get round to writing a review of it. :)
