I love my job :)

(sorry about the Geocities link... *grumble* but the pic was too large to attach, compression and size reduction just made it look bad).

BTW, the background of the desktop in this shot is a 30x30 headshot of Futurama's Dr. Zoidberg. It was so annoying I changed it shortly afterwards.

Try it again. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

You were saying you have budget problems?

These were bought last year, when we were swimming in cash. On the left are the Monitors That No-one Wants. Crappy little 17" ones. Everyone wants the 18.1" ones you see on the left of that picture. It's either hook them up like this, or stick them on a shelf. At least I'm getting our money's worth out of them.

I used to say when I was showing off the system to co-workers "the increase in productivity is amazing - I don't know how I got along with just one monitor" and they'd scowl because they only had one.

The other day I caught myself saying "I don't know how I ever got along with just two monitors" :D

Also notice the two PCs under the desk - one's a SQL Server 2000 machine (runs like a dog, I'm negotiating a REAL server for it next week) and one of the monitors belongs to that - I'm using Synergy ( http://synergy2.sourceforge.com ) to control it with the one keyboard and mouse. A third PC is behind the PoV, it's running Mandrake 9.0, and soon I plan on hooking a fourth monitor up and running Synergy on that too. I have to surpass my co-worker, whose system I also set up with 3 monitors and Synergy :) :)

Ah, three systems, 2 x Win2000 and 1 x Linux, all controlled from one set of devices. I don't know how I'm getting along with just three monitors and two PCs. Mua ha ha!
