View Full Version : Any good free audiocentric disc burning utilities out there?

I was up until 3am burning SB's disc, and everything seemed to be going along just great. The system I use is Adaptec and it is a bit counter-intuitive for a newbie like myself, but I thought I had it dialed in...only to find out upon "closing" the disc that there was only 1 1/2 songs on it, despite many indications to the contrary!
That was quite frustrating...so...anyone know of an easy, free utility to use (hell, I'll buy one if necessary) that will at least tell me everything is all fucked up before I find out otherwise?

Thanks...

I use that as well. It does that when the write has fucked up for some reason.

Yeah, but it doesn't tell you shit and you're kind of trapped in the process until the end!!!! I mean, all indications were that I put 74 fucking minutes of music on that bastard and then I've got the first song and half of one I didn't even put in the layout?!? That's ridiculous....argh!!!!
It's not like I have this overabundance of sleep right now....fuuuuuuuudge.

Apologies for the cussin', but that was really frustrating.

And it is highly likely that it was all my fault, but still...how about a "hey, chowderhead" window or something?

If you had a mac I'd recomend the amazing and free iTunes, but you don't, so I won't.

No problem!

All my PC owning college buddies use this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005BGB2/qid=1051291366/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1_etk-software/104-7032534-0451123?v=glance&s=software&n=229534)

You can probably download it for free with Kazza or whatever.

Actually you just need to download it off their website and then put in a registration code off some crap warez site.

Hmmm...looks like Windows Media Player 9 is free and can copy to CD...I'll try that one this weekend.

WM9 is working out fine, though I did seem to waste one disc in the process...some kind of "overbuffering" issue or something...
But SB's disc is done...now just have to print out the cover and ship it over....

Brilliant.
