I can't be alone in thinking that this the most retarded anti net-piracy scheme yet. Surely antagonizing your fans is never a good idea.

Can anyone send me a Madonna swearing track?

Debaser

Why? Are you gonna cover it at your acoustic gig?

Funkodrom

Maybe!

You wanna be on the guest list?

Debaser

Yep, please. Though I may have to hide somewhere if you're terrible.

I think it'll mostly just be my little brother playing his songs. Not like we've rehearsed anything yet!!!

Are you having a practice tonight?

Funkodrom

Yep.

You have a ticket for it already. Joski, Obiat, Dr Sid and Days of Worth.

Plus it won't work. If you download a fake track, you delete it. If you download a real track you don't. Copies of fake track tends to zero, whilst copies of real track tends to infinity.

Doomed to failure from the start.

"American Life can be downloaded from the web"

I liked how hackers whacked her site, and put the whole album up there for free download.

Although I can see why people would prefer a track of Madonna swearing over her music. Now, that's art!

The whole thing is amusing. However, a better idea would be to lace those fake tracks with a virus. :gasmaske:

The nearest one I can think of is that song where she sings 'Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body...' ;)

...but quite frankly, it serves them right for downloading Madonna's music :D

The RIAA is lobbying for that capability. However, as American law stands, if they did that now, they'd be liable for all the damages that virus caused. And for all the damages when that virus spreads...

You can't put a virus in an MP3, MP3s are just data, like picture files. Aren't they?

They'd have to modify MP3 playing software, or change the MP3 standard to include executable code.

There's an excuse not to buy it when it is approved by menopausal old fishwives ;)

No, no, heat is read by 20-something girls, not the middle-aged. You're thinking of Hello! and Ok!

Still, how seriously would you take their music reviews? :D

Scabrous Birdseed

Beside a tendency to overrate the David Sneddon type and way too many 5-star reviews I actually quite enjoy reading them. They've got some fresh ideas and some decent reviewers.

Well yeah, but I don't think that Kazaa sorts .vbs files into the music category. :) (or does it?)
