Sean
18-04-2003, 12:36:27
Provisional deadline is 11:59 PM BST next Wednesday. Get the comments back for Friday and we’ll sort it then.

Well done to Scabrous Birdseed who has already submitted his reviews.

Debaser
18-04-2003, 17:47:07
Tracks 1-8 or 1-9?

Sean
18-04-2003, 18:25:44
1-8.

Debaser
18-04-2003, 19:32:33
My reviews should be winging their way to you right now.

Sean
18-04-2003, 19:36:21
Received, cheers. That’s three already then (the third is me, duh).

Debaser
18-04-2003, 19:43:41
I see Shakey's lurking so he obviously has time on his hands too. Maybe he'll do his???

Sean
18-04-2003, 19:46:06
I should hope so. If he does I might even send him this Combat Mission turn.

The Shaker
18-04-2003, 20:56:49
Oops.
Possibly tomorrow.
Either way it hardly matters since the dealine is wednesday.

Mr. Bas
20-04-2003, 09:45:03
My reviews have been sent in as well. Great section.

Sean
20-04-2003, 10:35:47
Received from Bas and Laz.

*End Is Forever*
20-04-2003, 16:26:47
Submitted.

Sean
20-04-2003, 18:25:34
 cheers. It’s great being able to read all the reviews as people write them, rather than split up and mixed in with those of the other people.

Provost Harrison
20-04-2003, 19:25:19
1-8? OK, I shall have a look into them tomorrow night, although I haven't really listened to disc 2 that much...

Sean
20-04-2003, 19:27:38
Listening to it will affect your reviews?

*End Is Forever*
20-04-2003, 20:27:10

BigGameHunter
21-04-2003, 15:04:32
I'll do my best...if worse comes to worst, I may have to have Funk send you my reviews and take a pass on the guesses...seeing as how I've only guessed about 2 out of a possible 18 correctly anyhow!

protein
21-04-2003, 15:27:11
I'm rubbish at guessing too. It's half the fun.

protein
21-04-2003, 15:49:30
I wish it was 1-9.

Sean
21-04-2003, 15:51:43
I think Iain would have exploded in that case.

*End Is Forever*
21-04-2003, 16:27:55
More than likely.

Sean
21-04-2003, 16:31:23
protein’s received. Funko, Ghidra, Shaker, RC, PH, and BGH* to go.

* Has a passable excuse.

King_Ghidra
22-04-2003, 08:45:59
I shall get on the case, reviews are written but the bloody guessing still to do and i seem to have meetings all day today

Funkodrom
22-04-2003, 09:40:02
Oh fuck, I haven't even looked at this yet. Definitely no time tonight or tomorrow night because I have to rehearse, and then play this acoustic gig tomorrow night. I'll try hard to do them at work but can't promise anything.

Funkodrom
22-04-2003, 13:50:19
Alright I bashed out some crappy reviews and sent them to Sean.

My guesses are really bad this week I think.

BigGameHunter
22-04-2003, 15:12:20
Funk...if you have a chance and still have them, can you send the reviews of II, 1-8 to Sean? I'll do what I can to make guesses by tomorrow, but I want to make sure the review gets there at least.
Thanks!

Funkodrom
22-04-2003, 15:31:20
Done.

BigGameHunter
22-04-2003, 16:02:22
Thanks!

BigGameHunter
23-04-2003, 15:23:07
Guesses sent to Sean via PM.

Sean
23-04-2003, 18:50:25
PROVOST!!

Thank you, the rest of you.

Provost Harrison
23-04-2003, 20:35:21
I just haven't had the opportunity to send them so far today...they will be with you in a few minutes...

Sean
23-04-2003, 21:16:31
Received, hooray.

BigGameHunter
23-04-2003, 21:52:39
What a team!

Sean
23-04-2003, 23:46:47
Comment, people.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 08:15:14
I just did. My first fooling-everyone-clean-sweep, I'm so proud.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 10:50:51
Found out last night that the first track on CD2 is by a band I should have recognised... at least Shakey told Debaser and me what he thought it was and it seemed obvious when we heard it.

I was this close to mine.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 11:03:04
No-one guessed my track.

Debaser
24-04-2003, 11:05:31
No-one guessed my track either.

Mr. Bas
24-04-2003, 11:05:55
Four people guessed my track. Like the last track. And the track before that.

So I guess you're responsible for that grindcore track, Johan?

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 11:15:59
Yeah it must be, I assumed it was Shakey.

The Shaker
24-04-2003, 12:12:05
Ha ha

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 12:37:46
I bet almost everyone guessed it was you.

King_Ghidra
24-04-2003, 12:40:19
There were 3 of those stupid 30 second shit songs on cd2, i was fed up to the back teeth with them by the end

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 13:00:49
In my defence I had no idea what everyone else was gonna put on. And Funko, only 4, I was surprised.

The Shaker
24-04-2003, 13:07:37
I had the advantage of knowing it wasn't me :)

*End Is Forever*
24-04-2003, 15:09:34
So who put QOTSA on then?

King_Ghidra
24-04-2003, 15:16:16
no idea :nervous:

*End Is Forever*
24-04-2003, 15:17:15
Who are we waiting for? :bash:

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 15:30:06
QOTSA was the one I should have recognised but didn't. I also thought it was shit.

King_Ghidra
24-04-2003, 15:47:38
i think you're shit

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 15:54:30
I think therefore I'm shit.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 16:13:02
Wait a second, you put the QUOTSA track on? Then who put the Yeah Yeah Yeahs track on?

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:15:28
Debaser.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:16:14
I guessed K_G for the Yeah Yeah Yeah's as well.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 16:16:22
That should'ha been a 100-0. Curse me for not thinking of it before you posted.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:18:41
Not necessarily.

Once the reviews are in it's a bit of a free for all discussion in Reading about whos tracks are whos.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 16:22:56
Oh come on. Who except me, King_Ghidra and Debaser likes the Yeah Yeah Yeahs?

:hmm: :gotit: :o :nervous:

Er, maybe we'll see after the article is posted.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:23:40
I do now. Well I really like that song.

*End Is Forever*
24-04-2003, 16:27:07
It's terrible. I didn't mind the QOTSA track though.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 16:30:23
Can we have a smily that combines the series of emotions described above? :justrealisedhowstupidIwas: or something.

*End Is Forever*
24-04-2003, 16:31:12
I at least recognised that it was a QOTSA track...

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:35:15
Yeah. :o It's so bloody obvious now that I know it that I can't see how I could possibly not of known what it was. Possibly I just didn't like it so didn't think it would be by a band I really like.

I think their new stuff is in a different league.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 16:37:26
I'm more embarassed at liking the Young Marble Giants track myself...

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:38:09
I'm fairly confident that I'm going to be further humiliated by track 29 (CD2-3) as well.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:38:49
x-post!!!

Is that what it was? *phew* At least I don't recall slating them.

Funkodrom
24-04-2003, 16:39:11
Sean see if you can get this article up before we've finished discussing it. :D

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 16:42:54
Yeah Sean you muppet.

Why's that? As it's by no means atypical of their sound, does that mean they're considered unhip in groovy Sweden or Bling-bling York?

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 17:43:40
Nah, it's brilliant. I like it a lot. I haven't checked them out earlier because Stefu posted a whole load of their lyrics in a 'poly thread and they were all shit, in a very high-school-intellectual-smug way. I seem to recall an especially annoying one about Oranges. So I shouldn't like them really solely for that reason, but now that I've actually heard their music I do. Which makes it embarassing that I dismissed them for such a ridiculous reason, but also embarassing that I like that band with the stupid lyrics. It's a bit ambivalent.

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 17:54:30
Er, after looking at a couple of websites I just realised this is a completely different band and I've mixed everything up. I don't remember what the other band was called but it was something similar. :o :o :o :o

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 17:56:57
They Might Be Giants they were called. :o :o :o

I'll just go self-flaggelate for a while I think.

None of those tracks are mine so you aren't waiting for me to comment now...

Lazarus and the Gimp
24-04-2003, 18:13:41
Now that's a really shit and punchable band.

Sean
24-04-2003, 19:24:51
Right, who wants to publish it?

Scabrous Birdseed
24-04-2003, 19:36:03
I do. Debaser, piccie?

Sean
24-04-2003, 19:39:31
Link PMed.

*End Is Forever*
24-04-2003, 19:40:03
Can you not publish it with a random picture and then sub in Debaser's effort?

Huh? 29? Am I missing something?

Sean
24-04-2003, 22:10:08
29 of the whole thing, or, as Funkodrom said, track 3 on CD 2. He might be, but I don’t want to say why just yet.

BigGameHunter
25-04-2003, 06:48:26
Ah...further evidence of why I have an English instead of Math degree.

Provost Harrison
27-04-2003, 10:03:32
That had me thinking too, refer to the track number and then disc, I don't want to have to be doing all that maths in my head when it is completely unnecessary :p

Funkodrom
27-04-2003, 13:00:30
I've got them all in one playlist so I have all the information right there. Anyway that's why I gave both bits of information.

Sean
27-04-2003, 19:45:37
I put them into separate playlists for each disc, plus one playlist for the current week. Simple.

Scabrous Birdseed
27-04-2003, 20:56:05
I "carry" "Compact Discs" that I then "play" them on my "portable Compact Disc player" which I likewise "carry" around with me.

Sean
27-04-2003, 21:06:05
I do that too. But if I am ‘typing’ the ‘reviews’ then it is handy to use my ‘computer’ to play the ‘music’.

Provost Harrison
27-04-2003, 21:20:05
Why put 'quotes' around 'everything', it 'seems' to be very 'silly', but I must 'go' to the 'toilet' now for a 'shit' ;)

Scabrous Birdseed
27-04-2003, 21:24:00
You've got a "computer"? I've got a computer muself. Is "Computer" a euphemism for something?

Sean
27-04-2003, 22:08:27
More an abbreviation.

Funkodrom
28-04-2003, 08:18:52
I "don't" have "the" CDs. "protein" "still" has them. "I" only have the "tracks" on my "computer".

protein
28-04-2003, 11:37:54
I don't have any "CDs" to "burn" your "CDs" on to. I also "owe" you "money". What a crap "friend" I am.

Funkodrom
28-04-2003, 11:44:10
I don't want/need the CDs back I can burn more if I want from my own computer.

BigGameHunter
28-04-2003, 21:07:42
What a bunch of "fags".

Debaser
28-04-2003, 21:11:56
Good "point", well "made".

""
