I don't know if this has been posted here before, but I found something rather amusing yet unfortunate on the BBC website. (here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2904531.stm)

The story is about Iraqi nationalism but this paragraph struck me

But if America ignores or misreads Iraqi nationalism, the war the US has code-named Operation Iraq Liberation could come to grief.

Now, I do not agree with the argument that this is an oil led war etc. However, out of all the codenames in all the world they could have chosen they had to fucking choose one with the acronym "oil". What on earth were they thinking of given the sensitivities...

Well, if that is an April Fool (and I am not sure that it is) then it is very dangerous and irresponsible of the BBC in the circumstances.

Well, as a cross-check, if this one is false then what is the real codename?

As far as I know it is called Iraq Liberation, it's not an April Fool but that is really stupid come to think of it. Or someone's got a really black sense of humour at the whitehouse.
