Eminem *ducks two tomatos* in a song of his says something about Moby calling him an old fart, if memory serves right and then proceeds with the announcement: "Nobody listens to Techno".

There was this brilliant absolutely brilliant techno track that has taken this sample "Nobody listens to techno" and the "let's go" from eminem's song and has produced an outstanding piece of contemporary musical delight extravaganga.

Hear it on the radio.

Anyone knows the name of that techno track per chance?

was it by '2 unlimited'?

No, no, nothing of that sort.

It might have been made up just for the moment. Just the other day I heard a really topical techno track about some contemporary event I can't remember that someone on the net just threw together.

Now, if it had been Chuck D on It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back saying "Base to the Place, London" I reckon I could help.

Yeah, but everyone knows that one.

That's genius. As soon as I heard that "Nobody listens to techno" I thought, "that would make a great techno song".

And it did!

It was really a great track :smoke:

Any chance you know the author of that tracks Paiktis? I'm a bit sceptical it was really such a great track though. Or that it even was techno.

Oooh, they played the topical remix thing again- it was Michael Moore's oscar speech they'd sampled. And it wasn't techno at all. Oh well.

As I sidenote, I think Emenim's statement is incredibly ignorant considering techno's roots in elektro, which was closely associated with early hiphop.

But it doesn't matter because slagging off that boring bald vegan twat is only to be applauded. My theory is that if he put something interesting into his body he might get something interesting out.

Why is that incredibly ignorant? Are you saying that fundamentally hip-hop and techno are the same?

Techno is music that only good if you are on certain drugs and hip-hop is aggressive poetry about guns accompanied by stolen music.

Drum and bass is the same undanceable boring beat reused over and over again with different samples over it.

Now i can't work out who's being sarcastic and who's being serious. But i know i disagree with anyone who's trying to claim that there is no merit in a particular musical genre. That kind of stupid generalisation is going to lose any argument.

Can I caim the musical output of one artist has no merit?

Only if it's someone I think is shit.

I was being sarcastic above.

Just shows how stupid it is to create an "us" and "them" and start slagging off the "them".

PH, that's one way of looking at my avatar :D

Colon, It was techno. I can tell that much. I don;t know the author.

Protein: I think trance should work better with drugs, techno too, but some tracks are quite great even if you haven't drunk one glass of alcohol, to me.
