The songs that did make it are a secret (and you probably won't like them) but I can reveal that I didn't include:
The Dr Who theme
The Thundercats Theme
Frank Zappa & Captain Beefheart - Willie The Pimp
Any of my own music. I nearly had it as entirely my own stuff including my rendition of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.
No Leonard Cohen and Stevie Wonder.

What did you not put in?

Emperor. Their songs were just too long. :(

Willie the Pimp is nearly ten minutes long and eight of them are gratuitous soloing.

Oh, Spinal Tap nearly made an appearance as well. Can't tell you any more in case the appear on later CDs. :D

 that is amazing, i nearly put in the original, i think it's a great track

I left out various rap tracks i was thinking of putting in such as 'Simon says' by pharoe monch, mainly because i thought that al lthe people who would like it have already heard it, and all the others would hate it

i also left off some eighties matchbox -line disaster because i didn't get round to ripping the tracks

uhhhhmmm and i toyed with the idea of putting some techno/dance stuff on but the tracks were all too long

I nearly put in the "tonight, Matthew, Sum-41 are going to be... Iron Maiden" tracks at the end of Does This Look Infected?, just to see how many people would realise it was actually a pop-punk band, but I didn't. Oh well.

I nearly included Stevie Wonder too, as well as Blackalicious - Alphabet Aerobics, some Aphex Twin song tune that I thought was quite pretty, some Peace Orchestra, some Interpol, some Rose Royce, (indeed I toyed with the idea of an entirely '75-'80era Disco selection. I kind of wish I'd done it really ), some ...Trail of the Dead, and last but by no means least an excellent track by Vanity6 (The girl band from the Purple Rain movie.), it's called Nasty Girls and I recommend you all download it anyway.

I've learnt my lesson- on LWP1 I told mike I'd dropped one track, only to put it back a couple of hours later. :o At least he didn't notice. I think.

I can reveal that my "hate" song, had it gone in, would have been "By Your Side" by Sade. Also, I found "Star Trek" by The Vulcans didn't really work in a compilation environment, and most of my favoured Soca tracks ("Glow" by Alison Hinds and David Rudder, "Sak Pase (refix)" by Krosfyah) were like four and a half minutes long and thus unusable.

Oh, and I was considering including "Gossip Folks" off the new Missy Elliott album, but then it was released as a single. :(

None of these, though, were among my hottest contenders. I'm saving those for LWP5.

I considered "I'm blue dabudibadua, I have a blue house with a blue window..." as my hate song.

oh god that really is awful :(

I'm sorry. Wake up Boo (poo) by the Boo (poo) randley's is my most hated song

I was going to put on All That She Wants by Ace of Bass as my hated song.

That's a great track!

WHAT!!!

:vom:

That's not even funny.

If you are going to a gig in Sheffield tonight don't you have to leave soon?

Scabrous Birdseed

Yeah! I like Ace of Base. :(

ARGH!!!!

My brother had that single. I was nearly forced to kill myself or him when he was playing it. The only track I can think of that inspires such violent fury in me is that Who Let the Dogs Out song.

Funkodrom
06-03-2003, 14:39:24
Not the brother from the band, he's always had really good music taste.

Nills Lagerbaak
06-03-2003, 14:42:18
Oh yes the other brother

I shall be going in about 15 mins. I was previously going to go at 1630, but that woul dhave cost me 110 :(

I nearly put that on the last LWP instead of Shuggie Otis, it's a great song! If I'd gone for a song I hated it would have been either My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion or (sorry KG) I Believe I Can Fly by R Kelly.

My "hate" song would have been "Ooooh, look. There goes Concorde again." by ......and the Native Hipsters. It's epically shit.

I could, quite easily :p

It would have been a toss-up between two: 'Save All Your Kisses For Me' by Brotherhood Of Man, or the considerably more tongue-in-cheek 'Floral Dance' by Terry Wogan

I did not include:
Ghost World (acoustic version) by Aimee Mann. Not good enough.
The Dead Man music video by Neil Young, with Johnny Depp reading William Blake over the top. Too obvious.
Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet. Got forgotten between revisions and wasn’t good enough to return.

I've got that film on video and no matter how many times I watch it I just can't bring myself to like it. I really really want to, in theory it's the kind of film I love, but there's just something about it that puts me off. :(

Despite liking it, I know what you mean—there’s something about it that just seems not quite right.
