Anyone played this?

I can get hold of an *ahem* 'review copy' *ahem* but don't know too much about this installment. Tiberian sun didn't exactly set my world on fire, but it does look quite interesting...

Supposedly this is an alright game. I've not played it, but the people who have seem to like it.

I played the first chinese mission in an internet cafe in wellington. It doesn't look spectacular, but it has a very good feel to it. About the same as Red Alert 2, but with better controls, three sides, and much more of a 'real world' feel to it.

It could be a real hit for the tanks and planes RTS people, but I wouldn't go that far on the basis of 15 minutes play. Definitely something to get ahold of and check out if you liked Red Alert, though - this has NOTHING to do with C&C2.

I loved Red Alert 1. Maybe Westwood is on the way back.

Heh:).

Generals wasn't made by Westwood. EA closed down Westwood a couple of weeks or so ago.

If a couple of other people here get it I'd consider getting it for multiplayer.

My computer is too old for this. :(

Speaking of multiplayer, are there still plans for WCIII this weekend?

Funkodrom

Possibly.

I can't actually remember how to play the game though.

But it says in your location that you are where he dances and plays.

It's not very nice to shoot him when he's happy like that. :(

Is that a joke! Now that you mention it I remember an April the 1st joke by Blizzard that had one of the races as Pandas.

That site's too slow to really examine at the moment. I'll have to try later.

The game's complicated enough without the expansion though. :D

Sheesh. If I can get through on my modem...

Call off the "Oh, shit..." above. Remembered what Ned was talking about doing and that won't take any more than Saturday afternoon and evening here.

I haven't got any patience. Took about 3 mins for that panderen page to load.

Go babe!:bounce:

The Pandaren is real, and Rachel's avatar is the icon for the new Shadow Hunter hero ability Hex. It turns a unit into a critter:D.

Your modem sucks, Mike.

You mean my half meg ADSL connection at work? That site was just unbearably slow from here then. The Blizzard sites always are.

Does this mean no more bald villains?

Shining1

It seems to mean no more cinematic cutscenes at all. All the stuff I saw in Generals was just staged sequences with the game engine. Nothing wrong with that, exactly, until you take the distinct lack of scary bald guys into account... :(
