This sounds great. Shame it seems to be unavailable now. :(

Carpet Burns by Sonic Undermind or Gabba would be good.

I have a copy of that, and it is great. Amazon.co.uk appear to still have copies available on import (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005RTSV/qid=1045140760/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_3_1/026-1593475-4459629), and I can assure you that it'll be well worth a 3-5 week wait. :D

Ah sweet! It said unavailable when I looked at that 5 minutes ago! They might have had it in 2 places. It's now ordered.

I remember when...

I'm sorry but when it comes to finishing off, you cannot beat Frankie Goes To Holywood's "Relax" timed to perfection.

Just put an Otis Redding disc in and hit "repeat/replay". That is all you'll ever need.

I'm not sure I would want to have sex to, say, "Old Man Trouble" off Otis Blue.

It's here, and really good.

I also got Finch, Zwan and Hell is For Heroes.

This is the best of them, then Zwan then Hell is for Heroes then Finch. I think.

What exactly do Zwan sound like? I'm scared to buy the album in case it sounds like the later Smashing Pumpkins material :hmm:

It's happier than anything I remember by the Pumpkins. It sounds really positive. It's not like late pumpkins really at all I don't think. Not that I've heard the last two albums (one of which was an internet only release I think).

It's quite disturbing music.

Imagine an eclectic mix of power-pop, glam rock, bubblegum pop and modern rock, in a reasonably good way- smartly produced, good hooks, quite fun.

Then impose Billy Corgan's voice on it.

It does sound really odd hearing him sing and sound happy.

That's what put me off at first. The music is really excellent, but Billy Corgan sounding happy is a little wierd. The songs sound Pumpkinesque, but without the massive overblown goth-rock-opera tendancies that ruined their last few albums.

Still, not as good as James Iha's lovely pop-rock album.
