This thread is a tribute to the best of the rest of 2002. In other words, this thread is for those bands/songs I really liked that didn't hit the big time. To be on this list, I basically had to hear the song on the radio at least breifly in 2002. Some of these may have actually came out in 2001, but well iirc I heard them in 2002.
Here's a few in no particular order:

Shoulda got some real airplay:
FLAW
AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY THE TRAIL OF DEAD
...
Titles I remember:
THURSDAY - Understanding in a Car Crash
SENSE FIELD - Save Yourself
ABANDONED POOLS - Remedy
BLINDSIDE - Pitiful
...
Are these considered hits yet?:
CHEVELLE - The Red
SEETHER - Fine Again
...
Finally, Heard real late in the year. On the brink, or just the first for the best of the rest list of 2003? Too soon to tell ...
ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS - Swing Swing

... maybe more as I remember them

SENSE FIELD - Save Yourself
It's a good song but I can't bring myself to really liking it since it's a Christian song promoting sexual abstinenance(sp) shamelessly

Sikth - How May I Help You. Great song, album out next year.

My mates band were their supporting band in Manchester a few months ago.

The crowd were completely silent and most of them went home, there were only about 150 people there and most of them were there to see Sakurai, my friends band. They were just playing like they couldn't be bothered.

I've not really heard Sikth properly. A friend once pointed me in the direction of an mp3 of one of their songs, and I wasn't impressed... seemed to me that they were overplaying the "Jonathan Davies style gibbering vocal" card in an attempt to sound edgy. Recently though I've heard them compared/likened to DEP, so I guess I'll have to give them another look - if only so that I can sit and feel smug about having been right all along http://forums.civfanatics.com/images/smilies/mischief.gif
