Check this out then sign the petition http://www.petitiononline.com/2inabar/

And/or contact your MP (http://www.faxyourmp.com) urging him/her to sign EDM 331 (EDM = early day motion)

Yeah, our MP is Kevin McNamara, I don't think he sees eye-to-eye with Tony...

Thanks, I think that's irony and sarcasm all in one.

Well, can't hurt to sign that, but Faxing your MP is better.

I have.

Could you PM me the rough idea of what you wrote and the MP's FAX number. I could give them a story upstairs too maybe. "Local band Sonic Undermind ask MP to rethink new laws"

I'll say it here. I said that the music scene in Reading was just coming to life and that as a local band member and writer for local music magazines like Unsigned Showcase and The Biz I was concerned that the new licencing laws would affect the local music community and could she look at EDM 331 and consider signing it on behalf of the local music community.

She said that she had a hand in writing the bill and would take my concerns on board. I replied saying that I thought there were a lot of positive parts of the bill and hoped that the cultural life of the country wouldn't be damaged in the process or something.

Typical, you'll get no joy there then...I shall compose something to send to my own MP, or perhaps the neighbouring constituency (the delightful John Prescott :D)
